“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. ” Matthew 28:19-20
Thank you for inquiring about the Sacrament of Baptism in St John’s Parish Trafalgar. Baptism is the first Sacrament of Initiation into the faith community. To assist you in understanding the Sacrament and its significance, we invite you to participate in a Baptism Preparation Session with one of our parishioners and also participate in a Rite of Welcome at a weekend Mass. As a minimum requirement for Baptism at St John’s, attendance at both of these occasions is necessary.
Baptism Preparation Sessions
are held in the Parish Centre at an agreed time with one of our parishioners.
The Rite of Welcome
Can be celebrated at any weekend Mass you choose after attending a Baptism Preparation Session and prior to the date chosen for the Baptism. (in agreeance with the Parish priest)
Baptism Offering
An envelope is available for families to make an offering to the Parish.
Baptism Stoles and Candle
Information is given at the Baptism Preparation Session.
